Punta Gorda is the only incorporated city in Charlotte County. Punta Gorda means “Fat Point” in Spanish and the city is located on a fat point of land sticking into Charlotte Harbor, one of the United States’s largest natural harbors. Englewood is a thriving waterfront community located on Lemon Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. There are 44,000 residents in Englewood, miles of unspoiled beaches, boating, sailing, and world-class fishing in Lemon Bay and Stump Pass. South Gulf Cove is an affordable sailing and boating community with 55 miles of navigable man made canals. These 126 canals lead to Charlotte Harbor and ultimately the Gulf of Mexico via the Interceptor Lagoon. South Gulf Cove is a deed restricted community with 15,000 lots and over 4,000 of those lots are on the water. All buildable lots have central water and sewer. Many of the water lots have no bridges between you and the harbor so they are perfect for sailboats. Residents also enjoy a Yacht Club, community park and residents boat ramp. There are 4 golf courses located within 10 minutes of the community and it is an easy and short drive to Boca Grande and its world class Tarpon Fishing.

Rotonda is a deed restricted community located in Charlotte County near Englewood. Rotonda’s unusual circular shape is divided by a closed system of fresh water canals that define the individual subdivisions within the community. With over 30 miles of canals winding through the community and several lakes and ponds Rotonda offers a variety of fishing and kayaking opportunities for its residents. Rotonda contains 8000 home sites, with over 3,000 left to build on. All home sites have central water and most have central sewer. Rotonda is home to 6 golf courses and is located within 15 minutes of Englewood’s world famous white sugar sand beaches, restaurants, and shopping.

Deep Creek is a newer deed restricted community located near I 75 in Charlotte County. This easy access to the interstate makes travel to nearby cities of Ft. Myers and Sarasota quick and easy. Deep Creek has many freshwater lakes and waterways, a golf course, and the Deep Creek preserve. The preserve borders the northeastern edge of the subdivision and is a 2,000 acre wildlife reserve and park. There are miles of walking and hiking trails. The preserve consists of a beautiful pine forest and is a great place for bird watching. Sandhill Boulevard divides Deep Creek into its 2 sections, Section 20 to the north and Section 23 to the south. Both sections have their own Property Owners Association, Board of Directors, and deed restrictions. The Burnt Store area is located in Southwest Charlotte County and is comprised of several deed restricted neighborhoods including Burnt Store Meadows, Burnt Store Isles, Burnt Store Village, Burnt Store Lakes, and Burnt Store Marina. Burnt Store Marina situated on Charlotte Harbor is one of the largest marinas on the Southwest Florida Coast.
